NCNR tools

Browser-based planning and analysis tools from the NIST Center for Neutron Research.

Web tools developed at the NIST Center for Neutron Research for planning and analysing triple-axis experiments. They run in the browser; no installation is needed. They are planning and analysis aids, not instrument control.

Alignment Dashboard

Upload a CIF, choose a scattering plane, and get suggested alignment peaks, a Brillouin-zone section and powder rings for aluminium or copper. Includes an all-reflections list, vector tools (angles and in-plane orthogonals) and a pan/zoom plot. Uploaded CIFs are processed in memory and never stored.

UB Matrix Tool

Calculator for four-circle neutron diffractometers: build a UB matrix from observed reflections and compute device angles for a wanted (h k l).

Pan Web Peak Analysis

Browser version of the peak-analysis (PAN) workflow: load scans, fit peaks and track parameters across a series.

Current Experiment Summary (BT-7)login required

Live summary of the running BT-7 experiment for the experiment team. Requires a login.

These tools are decision support for planning and analysis. They do not control any instrument, and their suggestions are not approved operating instructions.
